Trevor Kuna, chief marketing officer of QNET, said the convention – hosted in Penang for a 13th year running – was about transformation this year.
Tourism Malaysia has championed V-Malaysia this year as a high-impact international event, and Madam Nuwal Fadhilah Binti Ku Azmi, senior director of international promotions (Asia/Africa) division, from Tourism Malaysia, said: “Our targeted incentives, logistical coordination, and presence help elevate Malaysia’s image as a premier MICE and cultural destination.” She added that a decade of collaboration with QNET had helped position the country on the global stage.
“Events like V-Malaysia energise Penang’s creative economy,” said YB Wong Hon Wai, Penang State EXCO for Tourism & Creative Economy. “In 2024, business events generated RM 1.29bn in economic impact – up from RM 1.03bn in 2023.”
Over 13 years, V-Malaysia has welcomed 100,000+ participants to Penang, making it a key signature event in Malaysia’s MICE calendar. With 10,000 delegates expected this year, the event gives a substantial boost to local tourism and trade.
