Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) is looking to tap further into Indonesia’s corporate meetings and corporate incentives (CMCI) market via two new initiatives in Jakarta.
With the availability of direct flights from Jakarta to Kuching, BESarawak sees a promising opportunity to collaborate with travel agents and corporate organisations in positioning Sarawak – the Malaysian state located on Borneo – as a premier destination for CMCI. Sarawak is particularly keen to promote its appeal to this market where legacy lies at the heart of every experience.
Tourism Malaysia said it is targeting over 4.37m Indonesian visitor arrivals in 2025.
Amelia Roziman, CEO of BESarawak, said: “As businesses across Indonesia seek unique and impactful destinations for their corporate meetings and corporate incentive trips, Sarawak emerges as a compelling choice. We welcome not only corporate clients from Indonesia, but also international clients based in Indonesia. We are confident that our forward-thinking approach will resonate strongly with the forward-looking business community in Indonesia.”
BESarawak successfully hosted the Sarawak Business Events Product Update Session in Jakarta on 23 June 2025. Held in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia, Jakarta, the Update Session brought together over 60 travel agents and business events organisers from across Indonesia, strengthening ties between Indonesia and Sarawak’s business events industries, particularly corporate meetings and corporate incentives (CMCI).
The bureau also participated in Travel Meet Asia (TMA) 2025 at Swissotel PIK Avenue, Jakarta, 25-26 June 2025, a B2B travel trade event organised by Messe Berlin (Asia Pacific), dedicated to uniting Asia’s key travel professionals.
Adrian Goh Sze Liang, BESarawak manager of business development (CMCI), added: “Through product update sessions and participation in Jakarta, we had a chance to showcase what Sarawak has to offer in terms of corporate meetings and corporate incentives. By leveraging on the direct flights between Jakarta and Kuching, we believe that this opens up a new market segment to focus on with the seamless connectivity for both regions.
“Our products are designed to resonate with the discerning Indonesian corporate client, looking beyond the conventional and towards a more meaningful experience.”
