EUROPE – Meeting Professionals International (MPI) has revealed its plans for this year’s European Meetings and Events Conference, to be held in Budapest 29-31 January.
Elevating the mobile experience, MPI will offer EMEC 2012 applications, now available on iPhone, iPod Touch and BlackBerry Smartphone that allow delegates to evaluate speakers and sessions in real time, to access social networking sites, to direct message other delegates and maintain a customised diary for the conference. Many of these mobile elements and meeting design area experiences are designed so European event professionals can experience live what they are learning about in sessions such as ‘The Revolution Starts Where?’ and ‘Make Virtual Presentations Inspiring and Engaging.’
EMEC 2012 also brings to Budapest, MPI’s FlashPoint programme, which presents speakers in a showcase of rapid-fire presentations on forward-thinking topics that have broad-reaching impacts on events and business. FlashPoint speaker and Chef Christian Bitz, will talk to delegates about how he consulted the entire event’s menus using the programme.
Bitz is a Danish top-model-turned-guru-chef, author, speaker and television personality who has a master’s of science in nutrition and is passionate about making meetings better by choosing food that stimulates the brain. With Bitz’s guidance, the host venue, Budapest Congress and World Trade Centre, will create four unique coffee breaks where delegates can experience healthy and local food. The themes: Vitality, Brain Food, Back to Nature and Artisanal.
EMEC is pushing the experiential education into the conference’s social events as well. The opening reception is at the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts where delegates will experience Molecular Mixology, the latest innovation in the catering world. Delegates can then explore further advances in how new catering selections can impact learning ability in meeting attendees during Bitz’s Master Class on ‘Eating Right – Makes Your Meetings Bright.’
