Malaysia’s national convention bureau MyCEB is reporting a rising demand for business events and incentive trips, with a big four-day health incentive for 652 high achievers from China’s central city of Xi’an, the latest evidence of the boom.
Returning to the country for the second time, Xi’an 38FULE, a health and advisory company headquartered in Xian, brought its group to Malaysia, 20-24 October 2016.
The group attended a one-day conference at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) and followed up with a three-day incentive tour and activities planned by local Destination Marketing Company (DMC), Mayflower.
Incentive travel is one of the most popular employee reward programmes for many companies in China and Malaysia has a track record of hosting a large number of groups from China in recent years.
“To date, we have generated RM433m (US$103.8m) in economic value with a record breaking of 28,990 participants in attendance. Xi’an 38 Fule Health is estimated to bring in RM4m in economic impact to Malaysia. This has benefitted our country, local hotels, suppliers and retail outlets tremendously”, said Ho Yoke Ping, general manager of Business Events at MyCEB.
Meanwhile Malaysian associations are preparing for the second Malaysia Association next (myneXt) 2016 meeting.
The one-day event on 27 October serves as a knowledge platform for local associations to get ahead in the association industry.
The event takes place at VE Hotel and Residence, Bangsar South.
Delegates will hear from leaders and experts from the association industry in Malaysia as well as other countries, including Jason Yeh, founder & CEO of GIS Group, a leading meeting solution provider in Taiwan, and Craig J Selby, director of Metanoia Ltd, a specialist change and reputation management consultancy.
