TROOP, a meeting planning technology developer, has shared the industry trends discovered in its analysis of the platform’s growth over the last year.
“Businesses recognise the power of in-person meetings, as evidenced by the increased number of smaller, internal meetings this year,” commented Dennis Vilovic, founder, and co-CEO of TROOP, on the findings.
Trends found by TROOP:
The increasing popularity of hybrid and remote:
- Eight out of ten meetings planned on TROOP’s platform were categorised as internal meetings.
- Most of these meetings were small: 66% had less than 25 attendees, and 80% had less than 50 attendees.
Heightened focus on carbon emissions:
- On average, TROOP found that its meeting planners evaluate 3.5 different meeting locations, with attendees usually travelling from at least eight starting locations.
Budget constraints:
- TROOP’s analysis found that, despite many companies encouraging remote employees to travel back to the office, alternative locations were more popular and cost-effective in many cases.
Focus on employee safety and well-being:
- TROOP found that post-pandemic, its meeting organisers are focusing on a broad range of duty-of-care concerns, including the safety of LGBTQ employees and the impacts of travel time.
