The GovTech Summit, a leading event for public sector innovation, has announced its most expansive speaker and sponsor lineup for the 2022 edition taking place 1 November, at the World Forum in The Hague.
Returning for its fifth-year annual edition, The GovTech Summit will gather leaders across governments, academia, NGOs, and the startup ecosystem to engage on urgent public sector challenges and share best practice around harnessing digital solutions.
“The devastating impacts of the interlocking crises that continue to unfold raise crucial questions about the longer-term path of government transformation,” said Daniel Korski, CEO and co-founder of PUBLIC a venture capital firm focused on helping technology startups transform public services.
“Most importantly, the crises we face must call us all to lean into what needs to be prioritised amidst austerity, shrinking investment and experimentation for that journey to succeed and truly fit with both the mission that governments aspire to and values that citizens care most about. That sits at the heart of The GovTech Summit’s purpose, making it our most important edition yet.”
Split across three stages, the event will host a schedule of panel discussions, spotlight interviews, next-generation startup demos, and networking stations. An immersive online event will run parallel to the in-person event.
Highlights from the confirmed speakers at this year’s event include:
- Alexandra van Huffelen, minister for digitalisation, The Netherlands

The GovTech Summit also unveiled global payments technology company, Mastercard as sponsor. They join Nordic partner, Netcompany, the IT consultancy, and a host of The GovTech Summit’s community network set to be present at the event.
“Governments around the world face a myriad of challenges in the post-pandemic environment, and helping to unlock payments efficiencies, improve transparency and manage risks will be vital to enabling authorities to do more with less. Strong partnerships between the public and private sectors are essential to developing innovative and trusted digital ecosystems.” said Nicola Villa, executive vice-president, strategic growth at Mastercard. “Given this, Mastercard is excited to be partnering with the GovTech Summit, which is an important forum for informing policies and services, identifying opportunities for collaboration and forging new solutions.”
This year’s event will launch a new initiative – The GovTech Awards – shining a spotlight on the most effective GovTech projects globally. It will also host its annual Pitch GovTech startup competition, which received over 100 applications, giving six leading startups an opportunity to present their solutions on a global stage to policymakers and key investors.
