WORLD – Airline alliance, SkyTeam, has launched a series of enhancements to its Global Meetings product for 50-plus delegate business events and conferences.
With discounts on flights operated by its 19 member airlines, SkyTeam says it is responding to industry demand for travel to small, as well as large-scale events.
The Global Meetings Product has been developed to respond to the specific travel requirements of the meetings industry. Online booking was launched earlier this year, allowing attendees to book flights directly through SkyTeam.com.
New features now available include:
- Travel agent registration – enabling event organisers to nominate their preferred travel agency to handle all ticketing via an efficient automated registration system
- Delegate tracking – up to the minute monitoring of number of bookings made lets organisers know when they reach the threshold for reward tickets (one per 50 flown)
- Global Meetings support desk – available Monday through Friday to assist event organisers with queries and follow up
- Enhanced Communications kit – exclusive web, email or print resources such as promotional material to raise delegates’ awareness and handy tips on setting up travel pages for the event website.
SkyTeam Global Meetings is free to use and event organisers can set up their event in fewer clicks, thanks to a more streamlined registration process that has also been introduced.
“We’re capitalising on the positive trend in the meetings industry by removing the complexity of event travel management to deliver a simplified solution,” says SkyTeam’s VP of Sales and Marketing, Mauro Oretti.
Passengers can earn and redeem Frequent Flyer Miles throughout the SkyTeam network.
SkyTeam offers its 569m annual customers 15,000 daily flights to 1,024 destinations in 178 countries. The 19 members are: Aeroflot, Aerolíneas Argentinas, Aeroméxico, Air Europa, Air France, Alitalia, China Airlines, China Eastern, China Southern, Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Kenya Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air, Middle East Airlines, Saudia, TAROM, Vietnam Airlines and Xiamen Airlines.
