Simon Burgess joins National Wine Centre in Adelaide

Seasoned international business and hospitality professional and ex-Adelaide Convention Centre GM, Simon Burgess has taken up the role of general manager of the National Wine Centre of Australia in North Adelaide, Australia.

Burgess joined the the National Wine Centre on 4 April after 10 years at the ACC, five of them as general manager. His new role will involve building the centre’s reputation as a leading venue for wine experiences, conferences and events.

“The National Wine Centre is a great asset to the national wine industry and wine regions, and I’m looking forward to further building its value,” Burgess said.

“A focus for us in coming years will be to secure increased numbers of conferences and events that bring more visitors to South Australia to spend in our city and regions,” Burgess added. “Despite the challenges of Covid-19, the connections of the NWC to Lot Fourteen, the University of Adelaide, the investment in new hotel infrastructure and continued development in the city’s East End makes it an attractive business events destination moving forward.”
