San Diego Convention Center Corporation appoints new board members

AMERICAS – Phil Blair has been elected as Chair of the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC) Corporation’s Board of Directors, with Nico Ferraro elected as Vice-Chair and Rabbi Laurie Coskey newly-appointed to the Board. 

Blair, Executive Officer at Manpower of San Diego which provides employment opportunities, training and workforce solutions, is the author of Strategies for Success, a career resource guide. He also serves on the Boards of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce Benefits Corporation, LEAD San Diego, the United Way and the Holiday Bowl.

Vice-Chair of the Board, Nico Ferraro has worked in the pipe trades industry and his political career with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union spanned 19 years, where he represented the diverse divisions of the union until retiring in 2008.

Newly appointed to the Board by the Mayor and city council, Rabbi Laurie Coskey is the Executive Director of the Interfaith Committee for Worker Justice. As a community and and civil justice advocate, Coskey is chair of both the San Diego Community District Trustee Advisory Board and the interfaith table of the Jewish Community Relations Centre.

The SDCC Corporation is a public benefit corporation created by the City of San Diego to manage and operate the facility and the seven-member Board sets policy for the corporation. In almost 25 years, the SDCC has generated US$21.6bn in regional economic impact and supports 12,500 jobs.
