AMERICAS – Aspen, Colorado-based RMC, which claims to be the largest privately-owned destination management and special events company in the US, has opened a seventh division, adding six new sales, operations and executive staff positions.
Leigh Trance (pictured), formerly RMC Director of National Accounts based in Colorado Springs, becomes Vice-President of Sales to lead all seven corporate sales divisions.
RMC, which changed its name from Rocky Mountains Connections last year to the more simple acronym, has operations also in Denver, Vail, Jackson Hole, Park City and also in its new Lake Tahoe operation.
RMC provides destination management services to luxury properties, including The Ritz-Carlton, St Regis, Montage and Four Seasons. The company currently manages and produces upwards of 250 annual corporate events, and expects to grow that number by 30 per cent in 2012.
“It is immensely gratifying to advance the RMC footprint, and to promote and bring on new people. We are positioned to continue to deliver the highest calibre corporate events with this group of experts on board,” said RMC President Nathan Boyd.
Two new staff members have been recruited to run the recently opened RMC Lake Tahoe operation. Christopher Oliphant will serve as Director of National Accounts and Sales, and Andrea Emerson will be the new Operations Manager. Oliphant previously managed the opening of CommRow, an entertainment complex in Reno, Nevada and worked in sales management at luxury and conference properties in San Francisco, Santa Barbara, and Squaw Creek, California, and Dallas, Texas.
RMC is 20 years old and owned 1991 by Shawn Thomson-Palermo.
