Right and Fair sustainability code supported by Congress Frankfurt

News

EUROPE – The convention-focused marketing division of Messe Frankfurt, Congress Frankfurt, has signed a declaration of support for the ‘Right and Fair’ sustainability code initiated by the German Convention Bureau (GCB) and the European Association of Event Centres (EVVC) last year.

The code of the German event industry sets guidelines for corporate responsibility for sustainability in event organisation.

“We are following this code to demonstrate our support for the comprehensive quality standard in the congress industry,” said Director Congress Frankfurt, Claudia Delius-Fisher.

At Messe Frankfurt, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) represents responsible business management and includes economic as well as ecological and social aspects.

With its participation in the UN Global Compact since 2010, Messe Frankfurt claims to be the first German trade fair company to document its CSR commitment.

The Kap Europa was the first event building in the world to receive the gold standard pre-certificate from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) for its high ecological standards. The new standard was developed upon the initiative of Messe Frankfurt and takes the entire life-cycle of the building into consideration.
