EUROPE – Prague has won its bid to host the 13th Congress of the European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (EVECCS). The congress will take place at the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague, 12-15 June 2014.
The European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society organises the annual EVECCS Congress in a different European city every June. The Czech Republic will become the first country of the former Central and Eastern Europe to host the congress, which is expected to attract 300 veterinary experts from around the world.
Prior to the official opening of the congress on 12 June 2014, a pre-congress day entitled ‘What I can do with a paediatric patient?’ will take place. It will include lectures by professionals on differences in approach and implementation of therapy in this group of patients.
The EVECCS Congress will deal with the issue of diagnosis and therapy in emergency cases. During the four-day congress a wide range of international experts from European countries, the US and Canada will discuss the latest in veterinary emergency and intensive care.
Attending delegates can expect a varied social programme and associated events, including a welcome reception in a small brewery house, a guided tour through the historical centre of Prague and a gala dinner in the Slavic House.
The EVECSS is a non-profit organisation with the aim to promote the study, development and clinical practice of veterinary emergency medicine and intensive care in Europe.
