Organisers of ibtm world predict the journey to and from this year’s show in Barcelona is going to be as fast as the event’s high-speed internet access with the recent opening of an onsite Metro station at the Fira Gran Via.
The L9 Metro Line claims to deliver delegates from the airport’s Terminal 1 in 19 minutes directly into the Fira Gran Via centre.
The station also provides a link, with one change, directly from the venue to the city.
Graeme Barnett, senior exhibition director, ibtm world says: “Continually improving our customer’s experience has and will always be a priority. Whether it’s through fast and effective Wi-Fi connectivity in the venue or the journey in and around the city through new transport networks, our aims are to deliver the very best experience possible.”
The Fira Gran Via, which is also home to Mobile World Congress, the world’s largest gathering for the mobile industry, is also gearing up to improve connectivity across the show floor at this year’s event.
Ruben Dalmau, expansion-sales director at Fira Barcelona adds: “The fact that we host the annual Mobile World Congress means the infrastructure within the halls at Fira Gran Via is equipped with the most advanced installations that deliver up to 10GB to anywhere in the venue along with a state of the art network of wireless antennae integrated into the cable network which provides more than sufficient coverage and technology needs for any type of event.”
