EUROPEMesse Nuremberg has reported revenues of €193m (US$261m) in 2013, the highest figure for an odd calendar year in the history of the company.

According to the firm’s two CEOs, Dr Roland Fleck and Peter Ottmann, the existing event formats are developing more positively than the average for the sector and the global orientation is gaining more and more importance, in time for the international organiser to celebrate its 40th year in business.

In 2013, more than 27,000 exhibitors and 1.13 million visitors attended 174 trade fairs, congresses, public events and company events. Over 800,000 sqm of net display space was booked for the first time in an odd year.

Fleck and Ottman said: “40 years of NürnbergMesse are a reason for celebrating but also an obligation to continue the success story.”

The NürnbergConvention Center also set a new record in 2013 with revenues of €17.4m.

“This has probably brought the metropolitan region economic effects of about one billion euros in 2013 alone,” added Fleck.
