UK – Global event management company MCI has held its board meeting in the UK for the first time, at ACC Liverpool.
The two-day event drew decision-makers from MCI’s global offices and was a chance for Liverpool, which hosts the AIPC annual conference in July, to showcase itself as a key business travel destination for meeting planners.
The city has risen to 86th position in the International Congress and Convention Association city rankings and MCI’s Sebastian Tondeur describes Liverpool as “a new meeting destination, with a beauty which opens your mind. It is a city that works creatively together. ACC Liverpool’s facilities are made for meeting planners, they are spot on”.
Head of sales for BT Convention Centre, Kerrin MacPhie, said it had been a major objective of the ACCL’s BT Convention Centre to attract key conferences and events that feature high-profile influencers such as the MCI management. “We are delighted to have been given this opportunity to spread the appeal of Liverpool as a conference destination.”
