WORLD – Maritz Travel Company has announced it is to leverage cloud-based event management software specialist Cvent’s online supplier network.
Cvent claims its free online marketplace can connect its clients with 150,000 venues worldwide, help them send electronic Request for Proposals (RFPs) and then compare bids.
Maritz books 1.2m hotel room nights annually for meeting and travel programmes and has many Fortune 500 companies as clients and CEO David Peckinpaugh says the company is committed to investing in people, processes and technology that help deliver “exceptional experiences” for clients and their customers.
“We are confident that coupling Cvent’s technology with the industry expertise of our team is absolutely the right move,” Peckinpaugh adds.
“We understand the challenges meeting and event managers are up against: tighter budgets, a need to energise employees and customers with experiences that stand out, and pressure to demonstrate ROI,” says Anil Punyapu, Vice-President of Enterprise Sales and Partnerships at Cvent. “We are happy that Maritz has chosen Cvent.”
Cvent claims it has processed over US$2bn in online payments and managed over 30m event registrations since it was founded in 1999.
