WORLD – US-based global hotel management company, Interstate Hotels and Resorts, has expanded into the UK with the acquisition of Chardon Management, a UK management company. The move increases Interstate’s current portfolio to 47 hotels globally.
Chardon Management’s portfolio includes 32 hotels with 3,414 rooms, consisting of Holiday Inn Express and Holiday Inn brands, in addition to Hotel Indigo, Best Western, Choice, Ibis Styles and independent brands.
Chardon’s UK MD Robert Crook will now report to Ken McLaren, Interstate’s Executive Vice-President of International Operations.
“With this acquisition, we believe Interstate is now the preeminent hotel management company in the UK and Irish markets, offering institutional and private investors a world-class hotel management platform,” said Interstate CEO Jim Abrahamson.

Chardon had exited a management deal with Starwood Capital last year following discussions “set against a background of a perceived requirement for investment”, according to Crook.
Chardon was also chosen to manage the roll out of the new Puma Hotels Collection throughout the UK. That launch followed the agreement by Spanish company Barcelo to return ownership to Puma Hotels after exiting from an agreement to operate 20 country house and four-star hotels across the UK.
