Airport rankings from the Airport Council International have placed Indianapolis (IND), for the fourth year in a row, the No.1 airport in North America.
Indy’s airport currently boasts more non-stops, 44, than at any time in the past decade.
The airport also claims the country’s largest airport based solar farm, a bee apiary and a real-time robot scouring airport grounds to help answer customer questions.
Executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority Mario Rodriguez tells CMW: “Hoosier hospitality is the secret to our success. Our airport is certainly a beautiful, world-class facility, but it is the hard work and dedication of our staff and our partners that distinguishes us year after year.”
The new terminal opened in November, 2008 and, according to Airports Council International-North America, IND is now the eighth largest cargo facility in the States, as well as being the world’s first LEED certified airport.

The 100th running of the Indianapolis 500, 29 May 2016, is expected to attract 300,000 people.
