The 2020 edition of Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) officially opened on 17 February for a three-day show at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Knowledge Exchange on Day 1 connected delegates from all over the world for a day of education and community building. Speakers included Holly Ransom, CEO of Emergent, unpacking leadership skills for survival in a hyperconnected world, and Christopher Kai, CEO of The Mathem Group, exploring the power of human connections in business events.
The 2020 show floor has 330 exhibitors from the Asia Pacific and beyond, and organisers expect 2,500 industry visitors.
Hosted buyers and media attending AIME experienced a night of glamour at the Uncover Melbourne Gala last night at Melbourne’s newest venue – the Ian Potter Queens Hall, a unique heritage space.
Showtime Event Group partnered with the Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) as exclusive caterer for the gala and guests were treated to a full red-carpet experience that kicked off upon arrival on the iconic steps of the State Library.
Reopened in December 2019 as part of the Vision 2020 project, the space has returned to its former glory.
MCB Chief Executive Officer Julia Swanson said: “The Uncover Melbourne Gala provided guests with a memorable night and the opportunity to connect with industry peers from across the Asia-Pacific region, before the three-day tradeshow commences full of engaging sessions and productive networking opportunities.”
Entertainment included a gospel choir, performers in the sky and Melbourne’s famous band, The Huxleys.
