ASIA – Bangkok-based exhibition and convention centre Impact Muang Thong Thani has launched its Event Calendar Application on Android and expects to see a total of 200,000 users from two major Smartphone platforms by the end of 2013.

The application, which now can be downloaded from Play Store, adds more functions to facilitate online users who seek events and promotions. New features include an event reminder, Facebook sharing function, application rating function, and push notification for new promotions from Impact outlets.

MD of Impact Exhibition Management, Paul Kanjanapas, said Impact has been offering the Event Calendar Application on IOS for iPhone users since early 2012. Currently, there are over 80,000 downloads.

Android users can now search for calendar events including exhibitions, consumer or trade events, conferences, concerts, or other activities at Impact Exhibition Centre. Schedules and details of each event can be shown in both Thai and English.

“We expect to see the number of Impact application downloads to mobile devices hit 200,000 by the end of this year,” he added. “This tool is not only useful for communicating with event visitors, it is also a marketing channel which we can conduct activities to draw more fans and business partners.”

According to Kanjanapas, Impact is the first major convention venue that has developed an application for Smartphone users.
