News

ASIA – The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) has announced the finalists for its Best Marketing Award, ahead of the 52nd ICCA Congress which opens in Shanghai on 2 November.

The 52nd Congress is expected to attract the biggest attendance for an ICCA Congress venue outside Europe, with over 900 participants from 60 countries.

The ICCA Best Marketing Award was established in 1997 and is designed to recognise outstanding achievements of organisations in their effort to market their destination or product.

Entries can range from full-scale campaigns and branding exercises to individual promotions and events.

The 2013 finalists are: Gdansk Convention Bureau; Melbourne Convention Bureau; Palais des Congres de Montreal and VisitDenmark.

The finalists will present their successful marketing campaigns at the 52nd ICCA Congress.

ICCA CEO Martin Sirk says: “It’s a great spread of finalists, both geographically and in terms of the size and scope of the entries, ranging from wildly innovative low-budget promotional projects to ambitiously large-scale branding strategies. All of them have fantastic learning ideas for the audience at the Congress.”

The Congress takes place at the Shanghai International Convention Centre in what is ICCA’s 50th anniversary year.
