HONG KONG – The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) has won 24 international and regional conferences for 2011 and seven exhibitions.
The international conference wins are expected to bring more than 20,000 international delegates, experts and government officials to Hong Kong. Fifteen of these events are new to the HKCEC and span topics including medical science, dental, engineering and construction. A number of recurrent exhibitions also have plans to expand, a development HKCEC’s deputy managing director Monica Lee-Müller puts down to focused business efforts and effective marketing strategies.
“We are sensitive to changes in the global economy and the particular challenges that exhibition and conference organisers are facing,” said Lee-Müller. “It is gratifying to see such a promising start to 2011. The new events and their organisers from around the world are certainly a welcomed addition to HKCEC’s event portfolio.”
There are seven new exhibitions Lee-Müller says HKCEC is ” proud of its role in actively bidding for high profile events to Hong Kong and serving millions of attendees”.
