EUROPE – The Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre will be refurbished this year and its ‘restaurant world’ will undergo a “complete transformation” during the summer.
The restaurant world of the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre includes 17 different cafés and restaurants, with a total of 4,000 seats.
In addition to fairs, meetings and international congresses, the centre hosts banquets. Service, even for large groups of guests, can be arranged at the restaurants, the Winter Garden, or conference facilities. In the exhibition halls, a buffet serving has been arranged for as many as 10,000 guests, and a table-served dinner for 6,000 people.
The interior and service concepts of what the centre claims is Finland’s largest cluster of restaurants will focus on experiences and sustainable solutions. Structures, surfaces, colours and lighting will be completely renewed.
In the future, the restaurants will offer tailored services to its meeting and congress clients the venue says.
“We are investing in versatility and comfort,” says Customer Services Director at the centre, Veronica Krabbe.
“There will be restaurants to meet every taste: from wine tasting to beer and sausages, salads to sturdy home cooking, coffee drinks to traditional Finnish baking and a wide range of pastries.
“We have more than a million individual visitors every year, which means that our spectrum of clients is very wide. Our events vary from fashion to logistics fairs, and from book fairs to technology events and summer festivals. Now we will be able to offer something for everyone,” adds Krabbe.
