Greece creates alliance to support Greek tourism

News

GREECE – The Greek private and public sectors have created an alliance with the aim to “join forces in order to identify problems of Greek tourism; to confront them; and to solve these issues together”.

As part of the alliance agreement, the Greek National Tourism Organisations’ (GNTO) Chairman, Nikos Kanellopoulos, will create a special department within the GNTO’s Directorate of Market Research and Advertising. The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pavlos Yeroulanos, will promote the alliance within the state organisations.

The alliance has instigated two parts of its international campaign; ‘Greece, part of our soul’ media message and testimonials from corporations, business unions, associations, Chambers of Commerce and industries. These ‘testimonials’ will be communicated by radio and television spots, newspaper and magazine advertisements, the internet, social media as well as competitions.

“We endeavour to maximise the promotion both at home and abroad of our historic and beautiful land. We aspire to inspire trust in our nation, at the same time supporting our tourist business,” says the alliance in a statement.

“We extend our invitation to all establishments as valuable levers of Greek economy. Do become our partners in this national effort. Do strengthen our Alliance. Do spread its message,” it added.
