GBTA to host new energy and resources travel symposium in Cape Town

News

AFRICA – The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) will host the African Energy and Resources Travel Symposium in Cape Town, 3-4 July 2013, which is expected to attract over 80 delegates from South Africa and other energy and resource centres across the wider African continent. This will be the sixth event in 2013 for GBTA in this sector after the association’s inaugural symposium in Europe in 2011.

“Oil, Gas and Mining are Africa’s biggest economic drivers and the business travel professionals who work for these companies in South Africa and the wider African continent will benefit greatly from an event dedicated to their needs,” said GBTA‘s Regional Director of Operations in Africa, Jacky Maulgue.

The new event will feature several senior industry buyers from the sector who will also form the event’s steering committee. Wings Travel Management, specialists in energy-related travel, has committed to the event as a founding supporter having already supported launch events in Europe and Rio de Janeiro.

GBTA is also planning events across this sector in Perth, Australia; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Calgary, Canada, and is due to announce an event in the USA.
