PUERTO RICO – Ann Garvey has been appointed the Director of Sales for the Puerto Rico Convention Center with a particular focus on the US markets of Washington, DC; Maryland; and the southeast and southwest of the US.
Garvey will be based in Maryland, and previous to this appointment was the National Sales Manager for Visit Baltimore.
She has worked for the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau, which is the official sales and marketing agency for the centre, before. Garvey was the Regional Sales Manager and Director of Sales for the New York business unit for 11 years until 2001.
“Ann is familiar with the Bureau’s vision and mission and has a great understanding of the Puerto Rico marketplace,” said Executive VP and COO for the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau, Ramón Sánchez. “During her previous tenure, she led the New York team to outstanding results and we are confident in her ability to make significant contributions to the sales efforts for the Puerto Rico Convention Center, as well as the destination overall.”
