AFRICA – Hilton Worldwide has opened its first DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in South Africa. The 183-room DoubleTree by Hilton Cape Town – Upper Eastside is owned and operated by Upper Eastside Hotel under a franchise licence agreement.
The property, located in Cape Town’s upcoming district of Woodstock, is the fifth Hilton Worldwide property in South Africa and the third DoubleTree by Hilton in Africa.
“I am delighted we are making our debut in South Africa,” says Global Head of DoubleTree by Hilton. “The newly-upgraded DoubleTree by Hilton Cape Town – Upper Eastside offers superb facilities in a city that will help to extend our commitment to welcome the world’s travellers to key destinations.”
The hotel offers nine meeting rooms, a 350-capacity function room, as well as 24-hour fitness and business centres. Accommodation ranges from executive rooms and suites to two-storey loft rooms located on the penthouse floor. The hotel also features Liberty’s Restaurant with its seasonal a la carte fusion-style menu and the eStreet Bar and Lounge.
“This opening is a milestone for Hilton Worldwide as we underline our commitment to tourism development in South Africa and broaden visitor choice by bringing our third brand and our fifth hotel hotel to this growing market,” says President of Hilton Worldwide, Middle East and Africa, Rudi Jagersbacher.
