IRELAND – Organiser of the 2010 Annual European Airfinance Conference in Dublin has hailed the event as the largest of its kind in Europe, with a record attendance of 740 aviation professionals.
Attracting airline CEOs, banks, aircraft and engine leasing companies and manufacturers and export credit agencies, the two-day conference is organised by trade publication Airfinance Journal and Euromoney Seminars.
Head of marketing for Euromoney Seminars, James Merrington, tells conference-news: “The event exceeded our expectations”.
Conference speakers included VP and GM of Aircraft Financial Services for Boeing Capital Corporation, Scott Scherer, and CFO and deputy chief executive for Ryanair, Howard Millar.
Publisher of Airfinance Journal, Alasdair Whyte said he had been confident the conference would be well attended, “but am astonished that this year, with the industry still recovering, it will be the biggest ever”.
Over 28 companies sponsored the conference. Head of sponsorship at Airfinance Journal, Graham Sherwood, says: “We have seven new sponsors but are also delighted to have some who have supported every Dublin Conference since the first one in 2000.”
The event, in its 12th year, was held at the Four Seasons Hotels in Dublin, 20-21 January 2010 and is Airfinance Journal’s and Euromoney Seminar’s largest event and their second-longest running.
