Registration is now open for the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia’s (EEAA) 2016 Conference and Awards for Excellence at the new International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), on 30 November 2016. Organisers said there had been a 20% increase in the number of award entries and the jury of 32 judges has drawn up the final list.
The Conference will kick off with international speaker Steve Monnington, MD Mayfield Media Strategies, who will provide a global perspective on growth and trends in mergers and acquisitions.
Paul Bloxham, chief economist, HSBC Bank Australia will return to the EEAA stage to present the leading economic indicators and discuss their impact on business and consumer confidence; while marketing strategist, Ian Macfarlane of Strategetic Consulting, will challenge how we measure marketing success in a provocative keynote.
“The 2016 Conference will tackle some of the big issues facing our sector and we’re very pleased that we have the opportunity to do this in the exciting new convention and exhibition centre at Sydney’s Darling Harbour,” said EEAA chief executive, Joyce DiMascio.
“This conference will be an important gathering of the decision makers in our community – it is important that our industry responds to the trends and changes that are occurring in the national and international landscape in order to stay agile and relevant.”
The conference is one of the official test events at the new ICC Sydney and EEAA has included tours of the venue as part of the two-day programme.
“We are pleased to have to opportunity to hold our events in the new venue ahead of its official opening on 20 December. Our attendees will be among the first to experience the new venue in event delivery mode and this will enable them to see the capability of the new facilities,” DiMascio added.
