Cvent CEO wins Washington Business Journal CEO of the Year

AMERICAS – Cloud-based event management platform provider Cvent’s CEO and founder, Reggie Aggarwal, has been named as the Washington Business Journal’s (WBJ) CEO of the Year.

Aggarwal was selected from among the 50 ‘Most Admired CEOs’ list of nominees, which included CEOs from Marriott International, Lockheed Martin, George Washington University, General Dynamics, Inova Health Systems and The Carlyle Group.

“I’m extremely honored and humbled to have been chosen for this prestigious recognition from a group of notable CEOs from such prominent companies,” says Aggarwal. “This award is a milestone for the entire company, and it really is a testament to all of our employees’ hard work and dedication since the company started 14 years ago.”

This is the Washington Business Journal’s first annual Most Admired CEO programme, which honors top CEOs in the Greater Washington area for innovation in their field, outstanding financial performance, commitment to quality and diversity in the workplace, and contributions to the local community.

The CEO of the Year honoree is a standalone recognition that is deliberated and selected directly by WBJ’s editorial team.

“It was an easy choice for us to select Reggie as our first CEO of the Year,” said Washington Business Journal Publisher, Alex Orfinger. “We’ve covered Cvent since its inception and have witnessed the company’s perseverance, innovation and growth for more than a decade. Cvent’s performance this year, culminating in its highly-successful IPO, has been nothing less than impressive.”

The Journal will be presenting Aggarwal with his award at the Most Admired CEOs banquet at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington on 5 December. Winners of the ten other categories in the ‘Most Admired CEOs’ list as voted on by the newspaper’s readers will also be unveiled.
