EUROPE – Convene, the meetings industry exhibition that showcases the opportunities on offer in the Baltic Sea Region, has opened its Professional Development Academy for regional suppliers, 11 February at the Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva.
The full day of seminars and discussions on pressing issues in the industry comes ahead of the exhibition, 12-13 February, at the Litexpo venue in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius.
Exhibition Director Jolanta Beniuliene said: “Part of our strategy is to help regional suppliers increase their skills and level of service, and the Professional Development Academy provides the perfect opportunity to achieve that.”
Over 150 international buyers are expected to arrive in Vilnius as part of the Hosted Buyer Programme. They will be involved in 3,000 pre-scheduled meetings.
Organisers are aiming for a 30 per cent rise in hosted buyer numbers this year, up from last year’s first edition number of 115 international buyers, who joined 100 local meeting planners at the show.
