The picturesque waterfront of Cairns has once again impressed delegates attending the 2025 Body Fit Training (BFT) Conference, prompting organisers to confirm a return to the tropical destination for their 2026 event in April.
Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef has released a case study detailing the success of the franchise conference, which will reconvene at the Crystalbrook Collection and Cairns Convention Centre for a second consecutive year.
Tara Bennett, general manager of partnerships and events at Tourism Tropical North Queensland, said Cairns offered the perfect blend of space and tropical charm for the expanding event, which this year welcomed 400 attendees, including BFT franchise partners and studio managers.
“The 2025 theme, ‘Empower’, made full use of Cairns’ vibrant outdoor lifestyle,” Bennett explained. “The waterfront boardwalk linking Crystalbrook Riley to the Cairns Convention Centre was ideal for the daily Run Club, and delegates embraced the relaxed atmosphere, spending as much time as possible outdoors – whether jogging along the boardwalk or taking part in BFT sweat sessions beside the expansive pool at Crystalbrook Riley.”
The conference also highlighted the region’s culinary credentials, with delegates enjoying a low food miles menu at Paper Crane, in line with Crystalbrook Riley’s sustainability ethos. Waterfront dining at Hemingway’s Brewery showcased the area’s fresh seafood, while the Cairns Convention Centre served up native ingredients and seasonal produce, offering delegates an authentic taste of Tropical North Queensland. After three days of professional development, delegates had the opportunity to explore the region’s natural wonders, with a group of international attendees enjoying a fishing and snorkelling excursion to the Great Barrier Reef.
Janet Hamilton, general manager of Cairns Convention Centre, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Body Fit Training back in 2026. Our venue, designed to reflect the surrounding rainforest and Trinity Inlet, offers light-filled spaces that inspire connection, learning and innovation – perfect for showcasing the latest in fitness technology and equipment.”
Ash Hobbs, event manager at BFT Headquarters, described the conference as a standout experience for franchise partners, combining professional growth, networking and a breathtaking location. “Cairns provided the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable BFT experience,” he said.
Asia-Pacific CEO of BFT, David Aitchson, added: “Cairns was the perfect setting for our BFT family to come together – celebrating achievements, strengthening connections and building excitement for the future.”
