Budapest launches MICE Fund

The Budapest Convention Bureau (BUDCB), in partnership with Visit Hungary and the Kisfaludy Tourism Development Programme, has launched a new funding initiative designed to strengthen Budapest’s position as a leading destination for international business events.

The Budapest MICE Fund, officially launched 1 September, 2025, will offer support for high-quality meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions that bring global visibility and economic impact to the Hungarian capital. With an annual budget of HUF400m (US$1.21m), the fund offers non-refundable support to international events that attract at least 70% foreign participants and take place in Budapest over multiple days.

The Budapest MICE Fund is open to both association and corporate event organisers, with two tiers of support:

  • Unit 1: For events with 50–499 on-site participants.
  • Unit 2: For events with 500+ on-site participants, offering up to HUF50m per event.

Applicants may submit a request for support between 1 September 2025 and 30 June 2027 via the dedicated online platform operated under the Kisfaludy Tourism Development Programme, called TÉRKŐ. Application materials, including a detailed financial plan, will be reviewed by the professional committee of the Budapest MICE Fund. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis within the financial year of the event, subject to the availability of funds.

In addition to financial assistance, selected events must include the Budapest MICE Fund logo in all communications and promotional materials.
