CANADA – The eight convention bureau members of the BestCities Global Alliance (BCGA) have scored high marks in a survey of over 100 global associations, convention planners and local organising committees.

The BestCities partnership comprises of bureaus in Edinburgh, Dubai, Singapore, Cape Town, Vancouver, Melbourne, San Juan and Copenhagen, all comply with 34 rigorous meeting and convention servicing standards, audited each year by Lloyd’s.

Current BCGA President, Ana Maria Viscasillas, CEO of the Puerto Rico CVB, said she was delighted with the results. “Members of BestCities are all committed to providing the world’s best service standards to our clients. In addition to the annual independent audit we also want to measure clients’ attitudes and feedback on their total experience with BestCities partners”.

The survey, conducted by Lynn Jones Research, measured convention planning services, delegate boosting and marketing support, on-site event service, and post-event support.

Some of the areas that received an average rating of 9/10 or above were customer service, quality of the bid materials provided, overall experience of working with the CVB, and assistance with the bid preparation.

Richard Yore, Director of Meeting and Convention Sales at Tourism Vancouver and a member of the BestCities Management Committee, claims the results prove our destination is a world leader in delivering outstanding outcomes for convention clients.”
