AUSTRALIA – With the aim of gaining global recognition and trust, the Adelaide Convention Tourism Authority (ACTA) has changed its name to the Adelaide Convention Bureau. It joins its Australian counterparts and global bodies also operating as convention bureaus.
The bureau has also launched a new logo modelled on a ‘bright spark’ atom symbolising innovation, teamwork, knowledge, inspiration and collaboration. The ‘atom’ is connected to a series of smaller hubs representing the city’s ties to regional centres and a new strategic direction for position as a convention, business meetings and incentive travel destination.
“We’ve focused on five key attributes as the cornerstone of our strategy to attract business events and incentive travel business to South Australia” says CEO of Adelaide Convention Bureau, Damien Kitto. “The messages are Team Adelaide, which is the campaign name given to the collaborative approach we take to attract the business with the Adelaide Airport and the Convention Centre, The 20 Minute City, The Thinking City, World’s Best Wine and The Australian Experience.”
The economic benefit of the Adelaide Convention Bureau business is currently in excess of AU$100m annually.
