Québec City Convention Centre hosted a total of 170 events in 2017–2018, generating CAD$101m (US$76m) in economic impact for Québec – a 10% increase over the previous year.
The total events included 56 conferences, 18 of them international. More than 205,000 attendees converged in the region, with the Québec City Convention Centre receiving an overall satisfaction rate topping 97% for its services.
“This has been an excellent year for the Québec City Convention Centre,” said Québec City Convention Centre president and CEO Pierre-Michel Bouchard, who added: “The next few years promise to be very exciting as well, with 187 events already confirmed on the calendar between now and 2022.”
Québec City ranks 4th in Canada for the number of international events held, according to the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), falling behind Montréal, Toronto, and Vancouver. The Québec City Convention Centre is the first Canadian convention centre to offer its delegates, exhibitors, and guests free high‑speed wireless Internet access with unlimited data transfer.
