A new convention centre to be built near Šibenik, in central Dalmatia, will be the biggest in Croatia with a capacity of 1,500 people and a price tag of 58m kuna (US$8.2m).
The Ugo Group from Šibenik Solaris resort will build the convention centre its CEO Goran Zrilić revealed.
Zrilić also announced that the Hotel Milenij in Opatija and Solaris in Šibenik would operate under a new name: Amadria Park. The Ugo Group, which owns both hotel brands, will embrace five Opatija and three Šibenik hotels under the new, single brand name.
“Amadria Park is a new, Croatian hotel brand that will be in an even stronger position in the domestic and foreign markets, and further emphasises the uniqueness of our hotels,” said group board member Ela Komlen. The name Amadria Park reflects the love of the Adriatic Sea and harmony with nature.”
The group said it planned further investment to upgrade the remaining hotels.
“By investing, we want to extend the season and contribute to the economic development of the city in which we operate,” said Zrilić.
