Industry awards for Conference & Meetings World

The editorial team at Mash Media, publisher of Conference & Meetings World, has been honoured at a prestigious awards ceremony.

The Business Travel Journalism Awards took place in front of an audience of travel journalists and industry professionals at The Magazine restaurant in London’s Hyde Park.

The team picked up the award for the Supplement of the Year for Meetings & Events, for “Dubai Built For Business” in Conference & Meetings World.

CMW managing editor Paul Colston was Highly Commended in the Meetings and Event Editor of the Year category. Contributing editor John Keenan was shortlisted in the Meetings & Events News Journalist of the Year category for his article on cyber security.

Paul Colston said: “I am so proud of the editorial team at Mash Media. Our mix of hard-hitting news and in-depth features impressed the judges and we continue to go from strength to strength.”

Steph McGovern, BBC business reporter, hosted the night and chaired the expert judging panel comprising of business travel and meetings managers, industry experts, and journalists.

Organised and promoted by travel management company, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, (CWT) the awards are a celebration of the achievements of individual journalists, designers and editorial teams.

Commenting on the awards, CWT’s senior vice president UK and Ireland Chris Bowen said: “Over the last 12 years the BTJAs have grown to be a highly sought-after awards. We’ve never had so many entries, from such a wide breadth of publications. Recognising the quality of journalism in this industry that supports companies in every sector is so important.”

Conference & Meetings World is published for the international conference and meetings industry. It tackles the issues facing organisers of international events. The editorial is independent, fresh and news driven, with a global reach.
