Making it big in Hollywood, the Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) (pictured here in Berlin) has won silver for its Meet in Sarawak Short Film II – Recharge in a New World-Changing Perspectives promotional video at the US International Film and Video Festival.

SCB chairman Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Leon Michael Toyad accepted the award on behalf of the bureau, telling The Borneo Post. “We are really thrilled to receive this award and know that this destination marketing tool will bring in more successful convention bid for Sarawak.”

This tribute comes in after a series of wins for the video, including Reed Travel Exhibition in Barcelona’s EIBTM Best Destination Marketing Campaign 2009; The Phoenix Award (Bronze) 2009 at The Asia Film, Video and Digital Media Awards, Singapore, and The Silver Award 2010 at The Golden City Gate Film Competition, ITB Berlin, Germany.

The sequel to Meet in Sarawak focuses on a climatic meeting between jaded Western business executives and local indigenous hosts from the Sarawak Iban community.
